The Micromax X590 is a feature phone offering from Micromax Mobiles with a big battery and excellent call quality. It is available for a price of Rs. 1,020/- in online stores. The phone works on 2G GSM networks. The calls sound crisp and clear. Let us take a look at the device in detailed Review.
INSIDE THE BOX:
· Micromax X590 Handset
· USB Cable
· User Manuals and Warranty Card
The Micromax X590 is a small phone constructed entirely out of plastic. The phone sports a classic candy-bar design is perfectly flat on all the sides and edges. The back is covered in a texture of diagonal stripes. There is embossed Micromax branding at the bottom.
On the top are the camera and the loudspeaker housed in a horizontal gray band running across the back. The camera cut-out is square and the loudspeaker grill is a series of horizontal stripes arranged in a rectangular pattern. The whole theme here is of straight lines and edges. This gives the phone a different look.
On the front side of Micromax X590, at the top, there is a band made up entirely of drilled holes which run across the width of the phone. The earpiece is hidden in these holes and it makes for a unique design element. Below that is the 1.8-inch display with a thick border. The two action keys, the call receive and end keys, the OK key and the four-way navigation key resides beneath the display.
The OK button also acts as a shortcut for the flashlight, which resides on the top edge and is ringed by the four-way navigation button. The keys on the alphanumeric keypad are made of soft rubber and feature a pill-shaped design. The keys also bear Devnagri characters along with English alphabets. This phone does not have a selfie camera.
Micromax X590 phone sports a small 1.8-inch display which carries a low resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The display is not too pixel-dense at 114 PPI, but on a screen this small, it just doesn’t matter. The colours are rendered nicely but viewing angles are not very expansive. The display is hard to view outdoors in direct sunlight due to poor contrast.
The Micromax X590 has a 0.3 megapixels primary camera with no flash. The images captured at 640 x 480 pixels resolution fail to show any sort of details. Photos taken under ideal lighting conditions turn out Ok. But the absence of flash affects low-light photography. The captured images are dark, grainy and full of processing artifacts. The camera is definitely not the selling point of the phone.
The Micromax X590 has no hi-res display and no smart features. It is made for calling and is quite good at it. The large battery capacity keeps on powering the phone like the Energiser Bunny. It just keeps going on and on. The phone zips through everyday tasks without any lags or hang-ups. The built-in 32 MB storage can be increased up to 8 GB via the microSD card.
ü Big 2400 mAh battery.
ü Dedicated memory expansion slot.
ü Built-in radio and torch light.
û No flash for the primary camera.
û Limited phone book.
The Micromax X590 is a phone built for calling and it does that quite well. Handy features like the built in torch and FM radio add utility to the phone. The long battery life is the biggest selling point of this phone. The device is sturdy and reliable. But the VGA camera is a disappointment and is effectively useless. It does not belong on a phone selling in 2017.
