Smart wearables are the next up and coming phenomenon in the world of smartphones and connectivity. Among them, smart watches are the most popular and well-known devices. The convenience of receiving notifications and acting on them without having to touch your smartphone is a great time-saver. The Medulla APL 2.0 looks like your typical smart watch. It features a square dial and black straps made of medical silicon. The dial and the strap are designed to look exactly like the Apple watch. Pretty uninspired and boring But some people may like its resemblance to the Apple watch.
The video recording camera is integrated into the top bezel of the display. The display itself is a color TFT display which supports touch interaction. There is a loudspeaker on the side of the watch and an integrated microphone. These are used while making or taking calls directly from the smartwatch.
The Medulla APL 2.0 has a square 1.54 inch touch-screen display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. The display is well-saturated and sharp thanks to a relatively high resolution on a small display. The display has sufficient brightness to be visible outdoors.
The camera on the Medulla APL 2.0 is integrated into the bezel above the display. This puts it in a perfect position for making video calls. The resolution of the camera is unknown, but it does the job for which it is included on the watch. There is no flash.
The highlight feature of Medulla APL 2.0 Smartwatch is the SIM card. It accepts a Nano SIM and once the SIM is inserted, it can be used to make calls, send messages and do video chats In addition to that, it has health-tracking features included. All the features work as expected.
With the expandable storage, lots of songs and media can be stored on board which can be played directly on the watch itself. The rechargeable battery is good for 5 hours of talk-time and 180 hours of standby. Generally, the watch needs to be recharged by evening in order to make it through to the end of the day.
The Medulla APL 2.0 is a smartwatch with the functionality of a phone. It is full of useful features and can replace the phone for some people. At its price point, it is a smart buy. While it is not as powerful as a phone, it is certainly powerful enough to more than justify its price tag. And for that, it is excellent value for money.
