The Karbonn Quattro L51 HD is a big beautiful slab of a phone which is sandwiched between two sheets of glass. This gives the phone a very premium look. The power button is round and sits midway on the right edge of the phone below the volume rocker. Both the buttons are chrome-coated and stand out on the black body providing a nice contrast. But keeping the phone free of smudges is a constant challenge. The non-removable back houses the camera in the top-left corner and is flanked by the dual-tone flash. Sitting in the centre of the back panel is a unique button which Karbonn calls as “Smart Selfie”.
On the front, the three Android navigation keys sit below the 5.0 inch display. The earpiece is flanked by sensors on one side and the selfie camera, with its flash, on the other side. An LED notification light is also included. The phone has flat sides and sharp edges. The glass on both the sides makes this phone very slippery. A case is highly recommended. Overall this is a sleek looking phone.
The Karbonn Quattro L51 HD features a LCD IPS display with multi-touch and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display is amply bright with good levels of colour saturation and viewing angles. Sunlight legibility is good and the phone can be used outdoors in direct sunlight. Overall this is an impressive display at this price-point.
The Karbonn Quattro L51 HD primary camera on the Quattro L51 HD is an 8.0 megapixels autofocus camera paired with a dual-tone LED flash which renders skin tone accurately. The front camera is a 5.0 megapixels camera paired with its own flash to fulfil all the selfie needs in all situations. The phone features a capacitive touch button on the back side. This acts as a shutter for clicking selfies. It is quite a handy feature.
The Karbonn Quattro L51 HD runs on a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor running at 1.3 GHz. It is supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage. The storage can be increased to 32 GB via the hybrid card slot. Out of the box, the phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone feels smooth in day-to-day usage.
The large 2200 mAh battery ensures that the phone runs for a longer period between two charges. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM radio, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor and Accelerometer.
