Infocus comes with a new device with very good features in its Epic series called Epic 1. It is powered by a deca-core processor and runs on OS v6.0 marshmallow out of the box. This is India’s first deca-core processor mobile. Let’s get into the detailed review of the Infocus Epic 1.


Infocus Epic 1 is a dual sim android smartphone which comes with a Jio sim. This smartphone is using a full metal body with a curvy design. The handset is bulkier at the center and gets slimmer towards the edges and however, it is comfortable to hold and operate. There is an Infrared sensor (IR blaster) at the front.

The fast charger is provided. And this handset is using a USB type “C” port. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back. It is decently fast and accurate. The Infocus Epic 1 houses a 3000mAh nonremovable battery. It has on-screen navigation buttons. Bottom of the display has the three touch capacitive buttons. To the sides of the smartphone has the power/sleep key and volume rocker. Top of the device has the 3.5mm jack for plugging the headphones and a micro USB port type “C” for charging.

The rear end has the 16MP camera; LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor. The speaker grill is placed at the bottom. The micro SD card and the sim card slots are at the left side of the device. It comes in dimensions of 153 x 76 x 8.4 mm. There is a LED notification panel on the upper panel.


Infocus Epic 1 has an IPS display. The display is 5.5” inch. Its display is made of FHD LTPS panels. It is a touch multi-touch capacitive touch screen.

It has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display is very good and does give you very good viewing angles. The color production is also good. The FHD display provides the best viewing experience.

The unique thing about the Infocus Epic 1 is, it is using the deca-core processor that is a 10 core mediate processor with Mali T880. It is the first Dec-core processor made in India. By default, the handset is using a black theme. But when you try to change the theme the borders become wider which is not good and looks weird on the white colored panel.

/Infocus Epic 1 - performance

This is not a big issue if you are okay with the color. This handset is running Inlife UI, over the android marshmallow. It is provided with a good number of sensors. The internal storage of the device is 32 GB and out of that you get around 17.22GB free space is available. There is a remote control feature where you can control the devices. The touch is very fast and responsive. The graphic quality is good. The overall performance of the device is ok.

The AnTuTu benchmark score of the device is 85988 and the 3D score was 15029. This hardware is powerful and it can play high-end games. And playing the modern combat 5, the gameplay is very smooth and I didn’t face any issues playing this game. The Asphalt 8 in high visual quality mode also played well.          


Moving on to the camera, HDR mode is supportive. The rear camera can shoot in 16MP resolution and records full HD video. There is an HDR mode for the front camera too. The camera quality is average.

Infocus Epic 1 is a good handset, it is powerful and can play 4K videos and get an option to shoot full HD videos. The performance is smooth. And it is a budget android mobile. Its performance is very good and the design also feels premium. It is one of the best smartphones in this class range. It is available at a price of only Rs 12K/-.
